Note1:Although the size of the downloaded archive is 7.89 MB ,you'll need almost 500 MB after extraction.

HTC Opal ( Touch Viva ) ROM Installtion
Hi
In this post I'm gonna tell you how to install a new ROM on HTC Opal ( Touch viva ).
Prerequisites:
-Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5. Get it --here--
-On Windows XP install ActiveSync. Get it --here--
-On Windows Vista/7 install install WMDC ( Windows Mobile Device Center ). Get it here.
-A decompression tool.Recommended tools:
--7-ZIP--
--Winrar--
I recommend 7-zip because of it's free license and higher compression ratio.
Step 1: HardSPL
Warning: This step will VOID your warranty
Normally you can install only official ROMs. In order to override that restriction you gotta HardSPL your device.
0.If everything goes right nothing will happen to your data but backup your phone just in case of any malfunction.
1.Download --Opal_HardSPL_v2_0.zip-- and extract it.
2.Connect your phone to your PC and ensure that they are Active Synced.
3.Run Opal_HardSPL_v2.exe and follow on-screen instructions.
4.If your phone didn't go into the gray (or white) screen mode download --Opal-SSPL-Manual.zip-- extract it, copy Opal-SSPL-Manual.exe to your phone and run it in your phone.
5.Wait until it's over and your phone restarts.
6.To confirm the new installation SPL, when turning on your device look for 2.00.cmon. If you found it then it's all correct.
Step 2: Flashing (installing) new ROM
1.Download your desired ROM for example --WM6.5 v28--
2.a.If the the downloaded package contains only one *.nbh file then you need to download this installation package. Make sure the ROM file name is RUU_Signed.nbh then copy it the path of the extracted installation package.
2.b.If the download ROM contains other files rather than the *.nbh file, you don't need the installation package because the ROM archive contains them.
3.Execute ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow on-screen instructions.
4.When it's done, your phone will restart automatically.
5.Enjoy new ROM.
Step #: Revert to original SPL in case of warranty services ( if you don't need warranty then you don't need to do this step )
1.Download --Installation Package.7z-- and extract it.
2.Connect your phone to your PC and ensure that they are Active Synced.
3.Download Opal Stock SPL 126.zip and extract it.
4.Copy the extracted file from the above archive ( RUU_Signed.nbh ) to the extracted installation package directory.
5.Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow onscreen instruction.
6.When it's done and your device restarted ensure that your SPL version is 1.26.00
